Final 5 of Manjusri Idol is BoRn!

On 3rd September 2004, after 1 round of audition for the Manjusri Idol, These are the 5 remaining contestants. During the 1st round of auditions, a whopping total of 6 contestants participated. The number tag sponsors are not very happy with the auditions turnout as they had anticipated and prepared 2000+ tags for the turnout. With only 6 tags being used, they are now looking at alternatives on how to dispose the tags elegantly.

During the auditions, the 6 contestants literally sang their hearts out. The sole contestant that was eliminated was Mr Ang Boon Liat, who sang "I Got Power, You Know", was eliminated before he reached the chorus.

Desmond Loo who sang "Ang Dao Yi Li, Atap Chi", touched the judges' heart, becoz this is the type of slogan that they religiously said to their friends when they were young.

Kokster Yee who sang the song "Thai Buddhist Chants(Pali Chants)Uncut-Unplugged version", amazed the Judges
Pay Kong:" ....Your singing has greatly brought out the life,soul, business, pros, out on the heartland streets...".
With this comment from Judge Tua, Kokster went thru to the next round.

Jacky Wong rocked the judges by singing "I'm a Sore Loser" OST of the 80's hit movie "Don't Ask Me Go Down And Buy Beer". He went thru to the 2nd round of the contest as the Judges were very amazed by the exceptional noodle culinary skills. Jacky, while singing, managed to cook 3 packets of soup noodles to dry and hot ones and served them to the Judges. The Judges were at a lost of words as the noodles were, simply too hot to handle.

S.H Tan mesmerised the judges by singing "From The North 2 e West, Woodlands is the Best". The Judges were touched by despite the long distance to travel, He's still able to meet us once in a while, a greatly commendable effort. enough to see him thru to the next round.

The last contestant who sang "Please Hire Me", did not impress the judges at all. According to reliable sources, its the close impersonation of Dong Gan Superman in conjunction with the sexy mole, that got him thru.
