My Knee-scapade

They say in life, humans normally will go thru several types of sensation, namely, sour, sweet, bitter, hot. I would like to add 1 more to the commonly known 4. that's Pain.

2 weeks ago, on a sunday evening basketball at Bishan MRT club, where we usually play full court with my buddies. PL got dragged into basketball saga, KS and MZ usually are the bishan park runners.

After 2 weeks break, coz of my CITPM exams,I finally get to lay my hands on the basketball, feeling enthusiastic, i was eager for the game to begin.

OMG...

5mins into the game, while i did a cross-dribble to other side, someone knocked into my left knee from sideways

ARGH!!!

I was being stretchered out by a few of my teammate. Its really lamentable. As my vocabulary is pretty limited, i can't find the appropriate word to align my degree of tainted spirit for basketball.

I shall blog about the cruise in subsequent entries, so next i found myself to a hospital for the needed accupuncture treatment.

Firstly, i had this. 7 needles strategically placed. ( I apologies for my unkempt leg hair)
(Part 1)

This is where i lay motionless top down, on a bed, while reading TIME magazine, to divert my attention away from the anguish that was coming from the 7 needles.

(Part 2)

Using Bamboo cups, with pre-heated air from within was being cupped to my injured knee.

(Part 3)
As I still couldn't straighten my leg, the Physician mentioned that i have a blood clot, so this step had to be inplaced.

After this, i still couldn't straighten my leg. I am beginning to get worried.

The next thing i knew, he had called another Physician. One of pressing down my leg. and............................

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds of 'delightful' voice echoed the ward and the consultation room door was WIDE OPEN.

There was a crack sound, from my bone. As i was grimacing away, the Physician told me in chinese
Physician : "... You have a slight dislocation..."
Me:(In pain*)".. oh.. ya.. thanks. owwwwhhh"

In fact, i could walk slightly better, the limp isn't as much as before. Though not completely recovered yet, i was told to go back for a 2nd consultation. I really hope i can recover, back to pink of health.

Yours Painfully,
MQ

Labrador Beancurd

It has been a long while since i last connected myself and the inner me. Seems like a pleasant moment to restart and drive on.

Last Friday, manage to arrange a meet-up. The agreed timing was 2000 @ CCK. Had never been there before, so in order not to be late again, decided to leave office 1 hr in advance, factoring al sort of jams, traffic jams, strawberry jams, i guess 1hr is just nice.

And i was right. jam jam jam, jam here, jam there, everywhere jam, lots of SG* on the roads. What is the challenge? well considering that GPS does not have "Lot 1" as the destination,***GAsp Gasp**, this guy is still smart enough to plough on the net for driving instructions.

Aniwae, managed to reach there just in time *heng*. Our intended plan was devour some beancurd @ selegie. so after picking her up, cruised down AYE->ECP. Ah would like to bring up 1 point, i.e, have covered all expressways except TPE,SLE,KJE. No no, i am not complaining about the distance. the distance is fine.

Finally, as we are nearing the rochor beancurd, it began to drizzle, and shortly after, it turned heavier. Situation Test!! Can't let her get drenched, and shit!, the brolly is in the boot. Warrau. Aniwae after some guy-unglam-darting-to-the-boot- movement, the rest of pretty ok. Was just a bit worried that she might catch a cold or something as there wasn't much sleep the previous night.

Ordered the following.(wah, a bit hungry leh, actually famished.hee SooO,my health-conscience sense got over-runned by the hunger pang and ordered:
1 x Curry puff
2 x Portugese Egg tart(so is it nice?)
1 x 'Butterfly'
2 x Soya Bean drink
2 x Soyabean(H+C)

Those are the entre events. Went to Labrador park. Throughout my 26,11/12 months of my life, i have never set foot there. It's a picturesque place. Let's see if i can describe it.

Ambundance of trees flanked the walkways,
As the path leads to a day-Jetty,
Labrador backdrop is decorated with lights from the Keppel Harbour
With occasional silhouette-lit boats cruising by,
Families spending time together
Anglers fishing away

This whole new place that my friend introduce me is a place that i would like to go back again. It isn't as cluttered as ECP, it would classify it as a more exclusive kinda feel, with the great company that i had that night. Somehow, i left the place, rejuvenated. Had a great chat, it's one of those chat where its continuous..(though toilet is a bit far)

Royal Family, can you give us 5mins?

Hey!

Its been a long time since i last blogged in my avenue of communication with myself. This blog shall re-ignite the good old days of me, communicating with my inner thoughts. Anyway to my faithful readers out there, recently, 3 of my friends went to this "Comedy Zone". Its being held at the Raffles Hotel's Jubilee Hall.

".. So.. how many tickets?"
".. You, me, karen, and nicky right?"
"... so that's 4 lah.. ok.. so who is going to book?"
** both shifty eye stares**
"".. warrau.. my credit card bill, this month very shiong.. "
"ok ok, i ask nicky to book lah"

Therefore on 1st Apr, coincidentally April Fools' Day, we have booked tics to this 1st ever comedy performance of my life in Singapore. A toast to that, i must say.

"..ok. i think i should park at Swissotel, not sure if there are parking lots at the other side..."
:... hmm u decide ba. u r the driver, i dunno anything about parking.."

Being the old corny me i replied
"...ok, we park at your residence there lah"

Slice of coldness invaded the car, but nevertheless, we laughed. Shortly after, we reached the Swissotel car park, parked and hopped over to the Raffles Hotel. Being the old me, without confirming theright destination, we "stormed" the front entrance, pass by the grand chandelier, up the 6 flight of stairs..THe next thing we knew.

we got greeted by hundreds of fans whom flanked the hotel corridors since the afternoon. Eager, the fans are, in expectancy of our arrival. Saw a couple of loyal fans and signed several autographs wif markers. We laid our charming smiles as we waved to the flashing cameras and paparazzi that were amongst the crowd.

No LA!(jesteress, something familar?)

the truth is, as we walked on to the 3rd floor, the slower we walked, the more doubtful we got.

"Is this the right place?.. though we got strong legs, but a bit too much steps right?"
"uhh. not sure leh, ahh, there's a staff, we'll ask him where is the Jubilee Hall?"

The next thing we know, we are scrambling downstairs, trying to follow the staff, whom politely ushered us downstairs.

THe comedy was funny, if not for the 2 guys whom clapped ultra hard, the four of us would have enjoyed the show even further. The comedy was 1.5hrs long, so by the time the comedy ended, Karen and I were famished and could swallow down a cow. The hard part would be to locate and hunt down one. Anyway, the four of us made our way down to LPS and we had an amatuer 'valet parking' service. The logic is simple.. here it goes

LPS Valet Parking Service
1. U drive along LPS, with the "i am hungry and looking for a parking lot" look.
2. U will get spotted by the p/t parking attendant.
3. Depending on availabilty, the PPA will look for one for u and direct u in.
4. After u park the car, the PPA now assists u in hunting for seat. Enough said.
5. PPA now strips and changes into a shop assistant and shows u the menu.
6. U order from him out of gratitude food

Food was A-ok, just that me and my friend ate fast, can't finish the nasi goreng and the Fishball nooodles respectively(Thanks for pointing out). Can't remember what did cynthia had..(what did u eat arh, cyn?)

Can't remember what did nicky had..(what did u eat arh, nicK?")

Ok, here comes the better part of the night...**drum rolls**(Duracell Bunny Version)

COsy Bay
The four of us decided to proceed to Cosy Bay have drinks. Upon going thru extreme hunger and followed by extreme filled tummy, getting the best of both worlds, made us can't think.

Waiter 1 : "WElcome to cosy Bay, Table for how many, sir?"
Waiter 2 : "WElcome to cosy Bay"
Waiter 3 : "WElcome to cosy Bay"
Waiter 4 : "WElcome to cosy Bay"
Waiter 5 : "WElcome to cosy Bay"
Waiter n : "WElcome to cosy Bay"

We were warmly greeted by the exclusive welcome address by the waiters, though not much wind was there at the time, cold jokes might make it better. Upon taking our seats, we were being showed the menu and supposed to order some drinks.

Waiter 83: "What would u like to have..?"
(at this point in time, we were still chatting and not ordering)

"... Hmm can u give us 5 mins to decide?"

Waiter 83 nodds and took 3.5 steps back, which made the below stated formula true:

Old Distance between table and waiter 83 = 1m

Assuming 3.5 steps back = 1m,

therefore , New distance of Waiter 83 to the table = 1m + 1m = 2m

Perhaps there was some miscommunication or something, the four of us exchanged stares and decided to order something quick. In the end, we ordered 2 Jugs of Heinikien and we merried till the outing concludes.

Splendid outing! Will Blog again.

Mingquan

V i v a c i o u s

Hello all readers,

Upon penning in the last entry on Friday noon, I received some hits on the comments on my recent saga of events. I was deeply overwhelmed (good and bad) by what my readers has got to say.

The preconditions for this entry are the following information:

Definitions
Blog - The Google Meaning

Internet Ettiquette

I manage to research on the Internet and this is what i found on some on Net Ettiquette and this is what i have found out. Its an interesting site. Its really worth the click and 5 mins of browsing thru.

With the above definitions, I would like to make a simple comment. The blog is my way
of me communicating with myself initially. The Internet publishes and welcomes any
readers whom chanced upon the blog and are welcomed to submit any comments.

Upon reading the first comment, honestly speaking, i was submerged in a cauldron of
rage, i can kick up a big fuss, using vast amounts of vulgar and profanity, but the
logicalality commands for this instance and decides to take all comments from a
different light that will benefit the post condition of the outcome. Thus reading till this point i will like to highlight certain points.

1. No vulgar/profanities

As the rightful owner of my blog, I really hope my readers/commentors does not diffuse into my blog. Reason is simple, there is no cause for that. I will delete when i see any.

2.Fire At Will, Be Responsible for your own comments

Aptly putting, as a blogger myself, i Do treasure what pple comment in my blog, whether the comments are good or bad.. It doesn't really matter, i will take all comments in a sanguine manner with respect to what my 4 core values of my secondary school has taught me.

That's all i have to say now.

[Irrelevancy]

Hello everyone.. its been a long time since I last penned in my blog. To my readers out there, whomever, whereever you are, i have been neglecting this old blog of mine and I am sorry . Ok la. i will try to write whenever i can?

Today's topic which I would like to bring up, is the word "Change". Its a simple word to some. Different context of use, brings about different idealogy.

For example,

NSF version of change.

PTI : pumping position change, crunches position change..
RECs: ...<> <>

Changes in some situations just involves physical actions. Easy, if u refer from the above example. However if emotions are factored in, situation might seem a little different. Some people are afraid of change. Well, there are many reasons why people are afraid of change. After some time of procrastination and thinking too much (jega, thanks for pointing out my bad point), pple get stagnant. Or on the other hand, pple will get used to the lifestyle that they are leading now.

They think "... well i can survive with what i have now.. why improve now? why job hop now? why upgrade now? Why not later?" For some, they make plans, often not feasible, to disguise, to deceive themselves that they have made plans for the future. But in actual fact, its a escape route or plans of reasonable belief that it might work.

Execution, execute according to what you plan. If u stray, its probably your mind that's taking over control of ur movement. No, Its not you. Remember during NS, my buddy and I will tell to each other during UC lessons when the UCI are splitting our legs, forcing our legs to behave like flexible ballarina.. "Mind over Body!"

Its easy to say, it takes teeth gritting for me. Nevertheless, we survived.

Final 5 of Manjusri Idol is BoRn!

On 3rd September 2004, after 1 round of audition for the Manjusri Idol, These are the 5 remaining contestants. During the 1st round of auditions, a whopping total of 6 contestants participated. The number tag sponsors are not very happy with the auditions turnout as they had anticipated and prepared 2000+ tags for the turnout. With only 6 tags being used, they are now looking at alternatives on how to dispose the tags elegantly.

During the auditions, the 6 contestants literally sang their hearts out. The sole contestant that was eliminated was Mr Ang Boon Liat, who sang "I Got Power, You Know", was eliminated before he reached the chorus.

Desmond Loo who sang "Ang Dao Yi Li, Atap Chi", touched the judges' heart, becoz this is the type of slogan that they religiously said to their friends when they were young.

Kokster Yee who sang the song "Thai Buddhist Chants(Pali Chants)Uncut-Unplugged version", amazed the Judges
Pay Kong:" ....Your singing has greatly brought out the life, soul, business, pros, out on the heartland streets...".
With this comment from Judge Tua, Kokster went thru to the next round.

Jacky Wong rocked the judges by singing "I'm a Sore Loser" OST of the 80's hit movie "Don't Ask Me Go Down And Buy Beer". He went thru to the 2nd round of the contest as the Judges were very amazed by the exceptional noodle culinary skills. Jacky, while singing, managed to cook 3 packets of soup noodles to dry and hot ones and served them to the Judges. The Judges were at a lost of words as the noodles were, simply too hot to handle.

S.H Tan mesmerised the judges by singing "From The North 2 e West, Woodlands is the Best". The Judges were touched by despite the long distance to travel, He's still able to meet us once in a while, a greatly commendable effort. enough to see him thru to the next round.

The last contestant who sang "Please Hire Me", did not impress the judges at all. According to reliable sources, its the close impersonation of Dong Gan Superman in conjunction with the sexy mole, that got him thru.

Keep tuned to this blog for more updates.

"Hostage situation" in Toa Payoh Interchange

~~Buaya Harian~~
On 23rd August 2004, 1 day after the discharge of the Thai National from hospital, has struck again. Using a Nokia phone as a weopon, he held hostage Passerby B, a p/t Bangla masseuer in Europe whom accidentally passed by Toa Payoh interchange. A public-spirited citizen, whom happened to sail by Toa Payoh interchange, wielded a Nokia 7610 and confronted the Thai National. He wanted the release of the p/t masseuer as he wanted to engage the noodle cooking services. The police authorities are now searching for the man in yellow, whom is suspected to be the mastermind of the entire "hostage situation".
